🤩 something fun: mini charcuterie boards

Good morning!

Charcuterie boards are pretty much the best addition to any gathering. They’re fun to make, look great and they give everyone something to snack on without having to serve a full meal.

But sometimes those huge elaborate displays (I’ve seen some truly wild ones online) don’t make any sense.

Here’s my quick tip for you this week: mini charcuterie boards!

Small charcuterie boards work great when you want everyone to get an even mix of foods or when you want to portion things out perfectly ahead of time. They’re also a fun way to serve dinner when you don’t want to turn on your oven.

My Secret Tip:

When you’re assembling a charcuterie board, the 3-3-3-3 rule (3 cheeses, 3 meats, 3 starches, and 3 extras) is a good guide for providing enough variety, while also keeping your board visually interesting.

PS- One bonus tip before you go, you can make your charcuterie boards ahead of time! You’ll want to keep your wet and dry ingredients completely separate until about an hour before serving. I often lay out all of my meats, cheeses and fruits the day before, wrap everything in plastic and then add the extras right before the guests arrive.

Now I’m curious, what’s your favorite food to see on a charcuterie board? I always have my eye on the lightly-covered dark chocolate almonds from Trader Joe’s. I love the addition of something a little sweet.

Reader, Happy Friday from my tiny desk here in Lyon, France. I hope you're enjoying spring weather, eating a meal or two (or sipping a coffee) outside in the sun, and finding time to do something you love. Usually I send a quick recipe email out every Friday, but I wanted to take a moment to share some other news related to my business. 🎉 New Ventures! 🎉 I won't typically mention these in my weekly emails, so if you'd like to hear about them from time-to-time, click the link(s), and I'll make...

Hey friend, Let’s skip straight to the photo this week because how gorgeous is this color??? Click here for the full recipe! Frank and I have been feeling nostalgic lately for the years we lived in Bangkok. We hope to take the kids back there soon, but it’s not in the cards just yet. In the meantime, we like to bring Thailand to us through its food. So if you don’t like the way I made it (with squash and chicken), I’ve included a list of easy customizations to help you make this recipe your...

Happy Monday! We had a full weekend of all the fall things. A bike ride with the girls and applesauce in the slow cooker. I had time to get our meal plan for the week lined up which always makes the week go so much more smoothly. With the weather cooling down, one of the highlights of the week is Vegetarian Lentil Chili - I'm so excited for this one (and all the toppings). Lentil Chili Recipe Today I'm over on Instagram sharing my own meal plan for the week. I love seeing what others are...
